Cardboard Box City 2006
On
Friday October 20th, Tom Garrett from the Y105 morning show along with good
friend and loyal listener Dewey "The Tower Crane Operator" Larson took
part in the Cardboard Box City fundraiser to help raise money and awareness
of homelessness right here in Rochester to benefit the
Dorothy Day House, The Interfaith
Hospitality Network and Salvation Army.
Here's a couple of pictures of Tom and Dewey enjoying a cold Friday night at
Soldiers Field Park where low temps dipped down around 32 degrees.

Tom & Dewey outside their cardboard cabin for
the night! By the way this log cabin totally constructed out of cardboard by
Dewey!

Tom & Dewey's Plush accomodations for the night,
not quite what you'd get at "The Ritz"!

Tom & Dewey making a game plan, probably trying
to figure out how they're going to stay warm all night!

Tom testing the strength and durability of his
temporary shelter for the night. Don't worry Tom, you're not going to
blow away!

Mayor Ardelle Brede even moved the Mayor's
Office and City Council Chambers to Soldiers Field Park for the night.
Law & order must prevail everywhere.......................
